Un-professional Development

I call this Un-professional Development because little I do here is done in any sytematic form as expected from “Professionals”. This will be a wander through the unknown! I plan on using this blog as a way to share my (few) good ideas, lesson plans, tutorials and resources as I stumble across them. Certainly there won’t be something for everybody, but maybe there will be something for somebody!

Podcasting

A Podcast is:

1. An audio file you create in .mp3 format…
2. Which contains your own radio show or any audio you wish others to have…
3. That you upload to a server
4. That your intended listeners download using one of several programs that have been created to retrieve your audio file automatically…
5. So they can listen to it at their convenience on their own iPod or .mp3 player.

Here is an example <—– CLICK THERE

The content can be anything you like, including “radio” type shows, audio books, music,  interviews, or a speech.  In fact, one of the best things about podcasting is that your shows can be about anything  you want them to be.

In groups of TWO— come up with an idea, and then a script for your Podcast. Your first show will be less than two minutes long.

Audacity Assignment. Open an audio file from here and put it into the Audacity program. Edit the song by “cutting” sections out, and pasting them elsewhere in the song. Advanced users may “mash up” two or more audio files by cutting and pasting into each other…..
