Un-professional Development

I call this Un-professional Development because little I do here is done in any sytematic form as expected from “Professionals”. This will be a wander through the unknown! I plan on using this blog as a way to share my (few) good ideas, lesson plans, tutorials and resources as I stumble across them. Certainly there won’t be something for everybody, but maybe there will be something for somebody!

Animation Ideas

Let your imagination be your guide, but here are a few things I have thought of that students can animate:

  • Language Arts:
Create a scene from a story or novel.
Write a story that can be animated.
  • Math:
Animate the solution to a math problem
  • Science:
    Exploding volcanoe
    Stages of plant growth
    Tectonic Plates / Pangea
  • Social Studies:
    The Seasons / Earths Axis
    Re-create a scene from History
  • Arts  Education:
    Creating Models to Animate
Animate a scene. Use various styles of background music to see how Mood can be altered.
  • Physical Education
Animate a specific “play” from a sport (ie: how to execute a full court press)
  • Health
    Hmmm….

Materials

  • Something to Animate. ( Plastecine, toys, people, drawings, any object large or  small)
  •  A background!
  • Digital camera and a way to get the pictures into the computer. (each camera may be different)
  • Tripod ( Not optional)
  • Computer
  • Video editing Software (We will be using Microsoft Movie Maker that comes free with Windows)
